Variety reports that Kate Mara and Shia LaBeouf are set to star alongside Gary Oldman in Dito Montiel‘s psychological thriller “Man Down.”

The Adam Simon-scripted film, which will be presented by the Solution Entertainment Group to buyers at this month’s Toronto International Film Festival, centers on a haunted Afghanistan war veteran (presumably Oldman) who “attempts to come to terms with his past while searching for his family in a post-apocalyptic America.” No word yet on who Mara and LaBeouf will be playing, but it’s safe to presume they will be the family members that the war veteran is searching for.

“When I read the script for the first time I knew it was something very special,” said Dawn Krantz, who is producing the film alongside Stephen McEveety and Jon Burton.

The film, which marks LaBeouf’s second time working with Montiel (They previously worked together for 2006’s “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.”) is scheduled to start shooting on October 30th in New Orleans.

Mara, who is best known for her recurring role on FX’s “American Horror Story” and Emmy-nominated turn on Netflix’s “House of Cards,” most recently wrapped up Josh Trank’s “The Fantastic Four” reboot in the role of Sue Storm (also known as The Invisible Woman). LaBeouf, whose recent films include Fredrik Bond’s “Charlie Countryman” and the Lars von Trier two-parter “Nymphomaniac,” will next be seen alongside Logan Lerman and Brad Pitt in David Ayer’s “Fury.”
